Biography
After graduating from Pierre High, I went to the Conservatory of Music
in Cincinnati, Ohio, majoring in flute. After one year of music, I
decided to transfer to the University of Cincinnati, majoring in math
and computer science. I decided to change majors after finding out the
different salary levels of the two majors!
After graduating from UC, I had the great fortune to be on the ground
floor of both the emerging computer world plus space exploration! I had
the opportunity and good fortune to work for NASA on the Saturn V,
working with Von Braun's staff and his German scientists. What good
luck! Contributing to the US Space Program was awesome. The Saturn V was
instrumental in going to the moon.
My next opportunity was being a Research Fellow on the Faculty of the
Univ. of Minnesota. I did statistical analysis on 150,000 children for
the U.S. Congress which brought funding for the School Lunch Program,
Low Income Health Clinics and the Maternity and Child Health Programs.
My next job adventure was under Jimmy Carter. Our team won the proposal
to form the Solar Energy Center in Golden, CO alone with four Regional
Centers. We created Energy Information Computer Networks in all 50
states plus Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. I loved every minute of
my computer career. It was fun and exciting.
After retirement, we moved from Minnesota to Roswell, Georgia. Here I am
a Tour Guide for the 1840 Bulloch Hall Antebellum plantation home. I
also play the flute for the 1853 Wedding Re-Enactment of Mittie Bulloch
to Theodore Roosevelt as seen on PBS and performed every Christmas in
Roswell.
One of my hobbies is genealogy research. I published the book "James Eno
of Windsor, CT" which covers 600 years of family history going back to
1400 in France. This book is in the Library of Congress and also the SD
State Library.
I just celebrated my 50th Wedding Anniversary with my husband, John. We
went on a cruise to the Caribbean. We have two daughters and two
grandsons. My observation of life is "too soon old and too late wise".
If only we knew in our teen years what we know now!!
Also --always remember our Guardian Angel that helped make our life
possible!
